Humans have f*cked Corals, in return they can’t even protest

Centuries have prevailed and we are stuck with questions as to how corruption is leading the nation? How religion has affected politics? Why the LGBTQ community is not respected in the nation? And many more questions that are there for the government as well as us to answer.

But there is one question that we have never tried to answer, are we intruding in the beauty of marine life? We know that we never come out of the questions that are happening in the world but there is another world wherein our ignorance has resulted into extinction of species present underwater.

We are very well aware of our interruption in the nature but we forget that the nature involves aquatic life as well.
The aquatic life is much more beautiful than the real world and humans are destroying the tremendous lifestyle of the aquatic animals, it is true that our intervention in the marine life has resulted in the extinction of various species present underwater.

Today this essay awakes the generation of our intervention in the aquatic life. One of the species that is at the verge of its extinction just because of our negligence towards the marine life is the CORALS; they are organisms that are made up from thousands and thousands of coral polyps. Corals are a great benefit to all the fishes, turtles, sea horses etc. Corals are not only the recreational beauty of underwater but are also responsible for protection as a lot of organisms present underwater can camouflage in the coral reefs as they are present in many colors. Also they are responsible for protecting the coastline from tropical high speed winds, storms etc.

And over the years because of global warming, coral bleaching has started, now what is coral bleaching? Coral bleaching is whereby a process where corals start losing their color either due to loss of pigments by microscopic algae (zooxanthellae) living in symbiosis with their host organisms (polyps) or because these zooxanthellae have been expelled.

While scuba diving you may have seen that a large proportionate of coral reefs have turned white, it is not because they have this color but because these coral reefs have resulted into coral bleaching and coral bleaching is the sign of death. And over the years more than 50% of coral reefs are dead and scientist say that more than 90% of coral reefs will die by 2050. Now the question arises as to how coral bleaching is taking place because of the intervention of humans? Over the years global warming has increased the temperature of earth and not just the temperature is increased on earth but it has resulted into mass destruction in the sea as well.

Sea has a fixed temperature of 17 degree Celsius and now because of global warming it has increased up to 0.13 Fahrenheit every 5 year. Also because of increased temperature coral bleaching has increased on massive level.

The Great Barrier Reef has been destroyed up to 25% and scientist say that 70% of the Great Barrier Reef will be destroyed by 2028.
We have looked into a lot of issues worldwide but we have ignored this massive change over the years and if our negligence continues there will be a day when scuba diving will be a complete waste because the most beautiful organism presents underwater shall reach the verge of extinction.

We need to wake up and answer these questions, we are the highest present living organism made by god and we are only responsible for the other organism that live around us and balance the ecosystem. The government alone is not responsible but our voices might matter and can protect the remaining species present underwater.

We can still protect the natural beauty of aquatic life because there are days when we feel claustrophobic living between tall buildings and constructed areas. There were great biologist that left few questions behind, what will you choose an under constructed areas or naturally built areas?
