Why sex sells?

It was around, 6:30 in the evening when I nudged my attention to one of the June editions of a local magazine where the prose’s and poetries were divided into sections. The primary part of the magazine was termed as erotica and I don’t have to explain my stance as to why this was the foremost section of the edition.

Automatically, it penetrated my mind into reading further and this is the reason why you are grasping the text written under the very controversial yet generic topic, yes ladies, gentlemen and so-called biologists; it is sex.

It is not new or unique and it has been with the organisms around the planet for centuries. Dated back to 1.2 billion years ago (Google can be trusted for ancient facts, I hope so). Also, this sexual production was well illustrated by an inanimate object rocks.

A fossil called Bangiomorpha pubescens is a multicellular organism that sexually reproduced the oldest reported occurrence in the fossil record. Surprisingly, humans were not there to judge or prod their eyes on sexual matters but it wasn’t their fault and it was well commanded when Romans and Greek gods were inspired by human caricatures of sexual predatory. Later, Raja Ravi Verma was disparaged for extremizing nudity in the form of women figurines.

Coming to the current century, you already know that contraceptives have high TRP’s and I make sure that I change the channel or my vision when the ads are glorified by sensational music and non-inclusive imagery, but that is very much inclusive in a bedroom or a bathroom or any other convenient places like behind a car or in a car.

My point being, sex is an intimate affair and I mean very. Moreover, when it is telecasted or publicized, we are meant to be awkward and embarrassed. But if it gets uncomfortable why does it have to be the bought by everybody or seen by everybody. Partly, because it attracts attention, when something so private makes it to headlines, it has to release dopamine in our body which pushes our mind to dig deeper into the subject. The second half directly invades into the marketing world where sex is a commodity which is advertising. Also, it has revolutionized how we perceive intimacy. I remember how I was attracted towards sexual affairs, I blame it to the advertising firms and the actors who were meant to glorify the subject. Porn industry has to take that advantage for increasing views and funding by selling DVD’s and directors who hit the box office by selling sex and deviating the public away from good critics.

When I am busy writing this, an advertisement of a condom gauges my intensity and reflects my interest, whereas my father just said ‘I am going to the bathroom’. It’s time that we realize that it is generic and focus on improving our sex life cautiously by consulting non-spicy experts. Well, sex surpasses creativity.
